The Gates of hope family medicare centre once called Gates of hope Nursing Home opened its doors in August 2016. The hospital is now over 6 years in existence.
With its continued growth Gates of hope Hospital withstood the test of time and braved through various organizational challenges. The hospital started to offer specialized services in 2018 referring mothers for CESERIAN SECTION CS to Thika level 5 and other surrounding facilities. Gates of hope hospital has been doing other emergency procedures.
The hospital has undergone many changes in staffing, services, and infrastructure over the years. It has a plan to expand in the coming days to offer even more specialized services to fully-fledged departments such as; Eye Unit, Dental Unit, Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation, Diabetes Clinic, VCT, ART Department-Anti Retroviral Therapy to support the already existing Outpatient Department.
Gates of hope family medicare centre Hospital has embraced a wholesome approach to medicine offering services that are unique and available in selected hospitals. In the year 2017, the hospital launched its 5yr strategic plan giving it a new direction.
The hospital is located at Kiganjo corner 2, Thika sub-county in Kiambu County, 10 kilometers from Thika centre. It draws most of its patients from the surrounding slam areas of over half a million population. This does not include the city of Nairobi with a population of over three million. Over 170,000 patients are seen in the hospital annually and it has a bed capacity of 24.
